Built in the 1960s, the site is an abandoned residential building located in the Xinhepu Historical and Cultural District, which was rated as a D-level dangerous building in 2020. On the basis of not damaging the exterior facade, the project reconstructed the internal structure of the building and its functions have been reorginsed to be rooted in the neighbourhood, meeting the needs of people living in contemporary times, and it has generally maintained the integrity of the community outlook.
